Although there are a vast number of ways in which you can make money, being able to do so from home and to a level where it becomes an income are far fewer.

If you've ever done any research on ways that you can generate income at home, then I'm sure you will of read about the following methods.Earn-Small-Amounts-Of-Money-Online
•Test company websites
•Market research
•Selling old, unwanted junk
•Online surveys
Now although these are all legitimate ways to make some extra money (only if you have the patience of an angel and can endure the sheer boredom of giving these methods a go), then they might just be the ticket for you. However, if you would like to earn more than just the price of a cup of coffee and a slice of cake, then I doubt very much that you would want to pursue any of these online jobs.
Being able to make money from home in my opinion and in this day and age, has to be up on a level where you are at the very least making a part time living, or more importantly generating a full-time income.

5 Ways to Make Money Online

Before I list the ways that once set up and maintained will generate a steady income, I  need to point out the most important aspect of an online business and that is to have a website! (build one for free here).
It is only from this base starting point that you will be able to build your business. Then from this stage, you will be able to add the additional layers to form your online business.
Once you have your website, then you can think about making money from it using these 5 following systems.
  1. Affiliate marketing
  2. Build a mailing list
  3. Amazon products
  4. Advertising programs
  5. Creating your personal program/product

Before I go through the list one by one, I need to point out two important questions that you will need to ask yourself first.
  1. Who is the customer that you are looking to help
  2. What problem are you looking to solve for them
Once you get this clear in your mind, you will be able to have a good idea as to what direction to take and what types of products and programs you will be able to promote to your audience.
Always keep in mind that your job is to provide service to others by helping them solve their problems via your website.

#1 Affiliate Marketing, What is it?

Affiliate marketing is essentially a process of selling other peoples/companies products or services and making a commission.

Is that all there is to it?

Not exactly, to be able to promote via your website, products or services you will need to be able to provide your visitors with the information they seek. An example of this would be, they are asking through the search engines 'how can I start up an affiliate marketing business'?
Your website should then provide the exact information that they require, and if they then go and click on your link and make a purchase, you will earn a commission.
You can provide this information by referring your visitor to a place where they can learn the skills and knowledge required to make a success of affiliate marketing. My chosen place to learn and the place where I acquired the knowledge to set up my own affiliate marketing business from, was Wealthy Affiliate.
At Wealthy Affiliate I was able to take myself from someone that had little to no understanding of computers let alone affiliate marketing and understand the way in which marketing is conducted.

Building up the Layers

#2 Advertising Programs

Applying to advertising companies is another way to monetize your website. Apply to the company and once they approve you, they will then provide you with a code to install on your site which will automatically allow the ads to show up in your post, pages or sidebar.
Google AdSense is one of the most popular ways to place ads on your site and to do this it will require you to create an account with them. When the account has been set up and approved, Google Adsense will provide the code for you to install on your site.

How do I Make Money From The Ads?

When visitors to your website click on the ads, you will earn money per click.
The amount of money varies significantly in cost depending on the ad. The percentage payment on all ads through AdSense is 68% therefore if you were running an add for $1 then your fee would be $0.68, and if it was a high paying add, let us say $10 then your fee would be $6.80.
When it comes to placing ads on your site, you might want to customise them so that they blend in with your theme. You will also want to avoid putting too many of them on your pages or posts as this is something that Google doesn't like, 2-3 will be plenty.
The benefit of having ads on your site is that it will help to generate additional income for you, even if a visitor doesn't find the information on your website. They could discover the answer through one of your adverts.

#3 Building an Email List

Creating an email list is a great way to keep in contact with visitors that have come in search of information that you have not been able to provide. However, that doesn't mean that you won't have a solution for a future problem, especially if you can remain in contact.
You will also find that past visitors to your site which have clicked one of your links and made a purchase of one of your products or services and are satisfied, make excellent future customers because you have created trust.
To obtain a visitors email, you will need to provide them with something of value that will persuade them to want to give you this information.
You can offer an ebook relevant to the theme of your site which contains quality, pertinent information. You can also provide the same information or the equivalent in a video series.
Remember that acquiring a visitors email can only be done through providing them with value, so they voluntarily opt-in to providing you with their email. If they don't, opt-in, and you send them emails, then this is known as spam and can be harmful to your online business.
To be able to store the email list that you are building you will need to use the services of an autoresponder. An autoresponder will save the list but will also send out emails, broadcasts and newsletters at designated times that you have set up (I will go into this a little more in another post).

#4 Amazon Products

These are physical products linked to your website; they will need to be relevant to the site, or they just won't make sense being there, and you will be less likely to make a sale from them.
For example, if you are promoting Wealthy Affiliate to learn how to set up an online business from home. But, a physical product that you are promoting on your site is a cordless drill, then that doesn't make any sense as what would someone looking to start an online business want with a cordless drill! Do you get the point?
It would be much more relevant if the physical product were a new state of the art laptop computer or a posture performance office chair, which will provide comfort while working.
When you first get started with Amazon products, your commission will start at the low end. However, the more sales that you generate will increase your commission percentage.

#5 Creating Your Personal Product

Reaching this level will generate greater sums of money flowing into your bank account.
Creating a product of your own will require that you gradually build up to that level and not dive right into at the beginning. You will most likely not be playing this big card from the start; you will need to gain a complete understanding of the previous layers of how to make money online at home.
To do this, you will need to follow a course which lays out each phase of the process step by step. Where the information can be provided in bite-size chunks that allow you to ingest it gradually and in such a way that you do not become overwhelmed with information. Particularly in the early stages when confusion can reign buy viagra usa.

Is There Such a Place to Guide Me?

There most definitely is, and it is the exact place where I started out on my journey to become someone that acquired new skills and knowledge in online business. These new skills and knowledge would provide me with the freedom to spend more time with my family. The place I am referring to is Wealthy Affiliate and if you take the time to read my review you might just find that this is what you have been looking for (Wealthy Affiliate Review).

      Hi Grant

I’m glad you enjoyed the post, I try and provide as much information as I can within my posts and pages to help folks with any questions that they may have.
Wealthy Affiliate is a fantastic place to learn affiliate marketing and all the many different aspects of working online. It will provide you with the very basic beginner knowledge, right on up to the advanced level. The cost to join is $0 for the starter membership, $47 monthly or $359 yearly.
ON my post there are a few links that will take you to my review of Wealthy Affiliate where you can get an in-depth breakdown of what it is all about. You will also see a comparison chart of what you get with the starter membership and the monthly.

The upsells within Wealthy Affiliate are only the cost of a domain that you will need and this is the same with any program, it will cost you between $13-$15 to buy and hosting is included within your monthly membership.
There is also a word search tool called Jaxxy which has a free trial of 30 word searches. The Pro monthly fee will be $19 and the Enterprise monthly fee will be $49 per month. The difference between the Enterprise and the Pro is mainly the data sorting and the number of returned searches on each search.

If however your like me, you can use the Wealthy Affiliate keyword tool provided within your monthly membership, which does as good a job until your at an income level where you might want to upgrade to Jaxxy.

I hope this helps Grant and if you have any other questions please give me a shout and i’ll do my best to answer them.
